Curd rice (Daddojanam) is the cooling finish to every traditional South Indian meal. Made with soft mashed rice, fresh yogurt, and milk, it is incredibly soothing. Pairing it with the spicy, sweet, and warm notes of Trueats Ginger Pickle (Allam Pachadi) elevates it to a gourmet experience.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked Rice (overcooked/mashed)
  • 1 cup fresh Curd (Yogurt)
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Urad dal
  • 1 sprig Curry leaves
  • Trueats Ginger Pickle (Allam Pachadi) for serving

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, mash the warm cooked rice thoroughly.
  2. Add the curd, milk, and salt. Mix well until creamy.
  3. For tempering: Heat ghee in a pan, add mustard seeds, urad dal, and curry leaves. Pour over the curd rice.
